Liga Americas round 12 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Brazilian Minas (3-2) against third ranked Argentinian Obras (1-4) 80-73 was the most important game of the last round. Obras dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Minas' 16 and made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Keith Stone (203-1997, college: Miami, FL, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994, agency: Duran International) contributed with 20 points and 7 assists for the winners. Argentinian-Italian point guard Facundo Corvalan (190-1998) replied with 16 points and 6 assists and American guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) added 18 points in the effort for Minas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Obras maintains third position with 1-4 record having just two points less than leader Flamengo.
