Regular Season Round 2: Santa Ana - Santa Tecla 88-101
Date: March 15, 2022
Very expected game when Santa Ana was defeated at home by Santa Tecla 101-88. It was a great shooting night for Santa Tecla especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 69.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Dominican guard Jose Liriano (189-1998) notched a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) supported him with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Santa Tecla's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals by Panamanian Jonathan King (193-1990, college: ACU) did not help to save the game for Santa Ana. American swingman Dartavious Young (201-1995, college: Everett CC) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Santa Tecla will play against Fantasmas in San Vicente in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Santa Ana will have a break next round.
