There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Comunicaciones (11-19) won against 4th placed San Martin (19-12) in Mercedes 102-98 on Wednesday. Comunicaciones made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Trahson Burrell (201-1992, college: Memphis) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import Jordan Adams (196-1994, college: UCLA) accounted for 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winning side. The former international forward Fabian Ramirez (200-1990) came up with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Jonatan Machuca (184-1989) added 10 points and 8 assists respectively for San Martin in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Comunicaciones maintains fifteenth place with 11-19 record. Loser San Martin keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. Comunicaciones will meet higher ranked Boca (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Martin will play against Argentino (#19) and hope to secure a win.
