Regular Season Round 31: Quimsa - Penarol 81-90

An interesting game for Penarol (22-9) which played road game in Santiado del Estero against their biggest opponent Quimsa (22-6). Third ranked Penarol managed to get a 9-point victory 90-81. Penarol looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Bruno Sansimoni (194-1996) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 6 assists. Tomas Monacchi (198-1997) accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds and the other American import forward Reyshawn Terry (203-1984, college: UNC) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Quimsa in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Penarol maintains third place with 22-9 record having just three point less than leader Quimsa. Loser Quimsa still keeps top position with six games lost. Penarol will meet at home league's second-placed Gimnasia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quimsa will have a break next round.
