Very important is a home loss of third ranked Penarol (23-10) against fourth ranked Instituto (22-13) on Monday night. Host Penarol was defeated by Instituto in Mar del Plata 90-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Penarol. They outrebounded Penarol 35-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Instituto shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-1987) notched 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and international Martin Cuello (193-1993) supported him with 22 points and 4 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots).
