Leader San Salvador delivered the ninth victory. This time they beat 11th ranked Cojute (1-8) 97-80. They outrebounded Cojute 60-33 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. San Salvador players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists. It was a good game for American center Marc Montavious (206-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists. Dominican forward Cristian Joan Duran (201-1996, college: Tenn Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Five San Salvador players scored in double figures. American swingman Andravious Smith (196-1995, college: Tougaloo) replied with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and point guard Ronald Melendez (178-1984) added 6 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Cojute. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Salvador (9-1) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Cojute lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. San Salvador will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cojute will play on the road against the league's second-placed Metapan (#2) to get more than just one victory in their record.
