The game in supposed to be quite interesting. Fourth ranked Santa Tecla (7-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Santiagueno (3-7). Santa Tecla smashed Santiagueno 96-68 on Thursday. Santa Tecla forced 27 Santiagueno turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds. American center Raymond Miller (204-1988, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Santa Tecla players scored in double figures. American-Colombian center Freddy Asprilla (206-1988, college: Canisius) answered with 6 points and 16 rebounds and American Xavier Eaglin (201-1997, college: PVAMU) added 16 points in the effort for Santiagueno. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Brujos. Santiagueno at the other side keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. Santa Tecla is looking forward to face Nejapa (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Santiagueno will play against Cojute and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
