Finals Game 1: Minas - Quimsa 91-81

Minas earned the third position in the Liga Americas tournament as they beat Quimsa in the consolation final. It looked good early as Quimsa took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Minas took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 10 points. They outrebounded Quimsa 35-20 including 22 on the defensive glass. Minas players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Guard Gui Pereira (192-1991) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 12 points and 11 rebounds. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Minas players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-1984, college: UNC) responded with 25 points and the other American import guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
