Regular Season Round 16: Metapan - Aguila 73-79

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Metapan (10-3) against fifth ranked Aguila (7-5) on Thursday night. Host Metapan was defeated by Aguila in a tough game in Metapan 73-79. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuban Lisvan Valdez (196-1988) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Kenny Wilson (-1993) who added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side Venezuelan point guard Edwin Mijares (186-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists and Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 24 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aguila maintains fifth position with 7-5 record. Metapan at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Aguila will play against Santiagueno (#8) in the next round. Metapan will play against Nejapa (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
