Liga MB top team - San Salvador (12-1) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Santiagueno (5-8) 108-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Santiagueno. San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Santiagueno's 58. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. The winners were led by Roberto Martinez who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 assists and Dominican forward Cristian Joan Duran (201-1996, college: Tenn Tech) supported him with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 16 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists by American-Colombian center Freddy Asprilla (206-1988, college: Canisius) did not help to save the game for Santiagueno. American Xavier Eaglin (201-1997, college: PVAMU) added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for lost side. Five San Salvador and four Santiagueno players scored in double figures. San Salvador have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-1 record. Loser Santiagueno keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. San Salvador will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Santiagueno will play against Aguila (#5) in San Miguel and hope to secure a win.
