Regular Season Round 3: Bayamon - Santurce 101-98

A very close game took place in Bayamon between Vaqueros and Cangrejeros. Vaqueros (2-1) got a very close home victory over Cangrejeros (1-2). Vaqueros managed to escape with a 3-point win 101-98 on Saturday evening. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-1992, college: Miami, FL) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international forward Benito Santiago (197-1989, college: Cumberlands) chipped in 26 points and 6 rebounds. Vaqueros' coach Nelson Colon used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Haitian forward Skal Labissiere (211-1996, college: Kentucky) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (191-1990, college: Canisius) added 27 points respectively. Five Vaqueros and four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. Vaqueros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cangrejeros will play against Mets (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
