The most exciting game of round 17 in the Liga MB took place in Cojutepeque. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Fantasmas (5-8) to tenth ranked Cojute (3-11) 76-75 on Tuesday evening. American guard Jordon Myers (201-1998) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Andravious Smith (196-1995, college: Tougaloo) chipped in 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Cojute's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Henry Sherrod responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Cuban point guard Osmel Oliva (180-1987) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Cojute maintains tenth place with 3-11 record. Fantasmas at the other side keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Santa Ana. Cojute are looking forward to face league's second-placed Santa Tecla at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fantasmas will play against the league's leader San Salvador (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
