Everything could happen in Santurce at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Cangrejeros and one of their biggest challengers Mets had identical 1-2 record. This time Cangrejeros used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Guaynabo 73-68 on Tuesday night. Strangely Mets outrebounded Cangrejeros 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard JJ Barea (183-1984, college: Northeastern) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and international guard Gian Clavell (193-1993, college: Colorado St., agency: Octagon Europe) who added 16 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Ben Moore (203-1995, college: SMU) responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import center Zachary Hankins (211-1996, college: Xavier) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Cangrejeros (2-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Humacao. Loser Mets dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with San German. Cangrejeros will meet Brujos (#4) in the next round. Mets will have a break next round.
