Minas dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to UNIFACISA's 28. They outrebounded UNIFACISA 45-30 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international power forward Renan Lenz (207-1990, college: Utah) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international guard Gui Pereira (192-1991) accounted for 20 points. Four Minas players scored in double figures. The former international Andre Bresolin (195-1987) came up with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Antonio Ferreira (200-1994) added 14 points respectively for UNIFACISA in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
