Regular Season Round 2: Adelitas - Halcones 74-57

Rather predictable result when Adelitas won against Halcones in Chihuahua 74-57 on Friday. Adelitas made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Halcones turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Senegalese power forward Oumoul Sarr (185-1984) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Kristen Spolyar (178-1997, college: Butler) supported her with 19 points. Four Adelitas players scored in double figures. Adelitas' coach Sebastian Sucarrat used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by American swingman Jordan Reynolds (180-1995, college: Tennessee) did not help to save the game for Halcones. Point guard Charisse Burruel (165) added 13 points for the guests. Adelitas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Halcones will play against Fuerza Regia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
