Regular Season Round 23: San Salvador - Chalchuapa 108-82

Liga MB top team - San Salvador (17-1) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Chalchuapa (4-15) 108-82. San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Chalchuapa's 24. They outrebounded Chalchuapa 58-44 including a 43-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. San Salvador looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Chalchuapa's players. It was a great evening for American center Marc Montavious (206-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 21 rebounds and 6 assists. Panamanian Alejandro Scantelbury (199-1993) helped adding 28 points and 6 rebounds. Five San Salvador players scored in double figures. San Salvador's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puerto Rican point guard Ryann Abraham (182-1987, college: App State) responded with 47 points (!!!) and American Gorg Alhag (190-1997, college: Mayville St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. San Salvador have an impressive series of seventeen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-1 record. Chalchuapa at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. San Salvador are looking forward to face Santa Ana (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chalchuapa will have a break next round.
