Regular Season Round 12: Fajardo - Bayamon 94-101

Very expected game in Fajardo where 5th ranked Cariduros (6-7) were defeated by first ranked Vaqueros (9-4) 101-94 on Thursday. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Cariduros' players. The best player for the winners was the former international Javier Mojica (189-1984, college: CCSU) who scored 33 points (!!!), 6 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Cliff Duran (193-1989) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Emmanuel Andujar (197-1993, college: Manhattan) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and American power forward Terrence Jones (206-1992, college: Kentucky) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Vaqueros and four Cariduros players scored in double figures. Vaqueros maintains first position with 9-4 record. Cariduros lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the second place with seven games lost. They share the position with Santurce and Guaynabo. Vaqueros will meet at home league's leader Piratas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cariduros will play against Cangrejeros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
