San Salvador dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana's 28. They outrebounded Santa Ana 57-21 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. San Salvador looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Santa Ana's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when San Salvador made 13 blocks. Dominican forward Cristian Joan Duran (201-1996, college: Tenn Tech) fired 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Panamanian Alejandro Scantelbury (199-1993) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five San Salvador players scored in double figures.
