Regular Season Round 13: Carolina - Guaynabo 83-81

A very close game took place in Carolina between Gigantes and Mets. Sixth ranked Gigantes (4-7) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Mets (6-9). Gigantes managed to escape with a 2-point win 83-81 on Sunday evening. Strangely Mets outrebounded Gigantes 45-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (207-87, college: Georgia Tech) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and American guard Sheldon McClellan (196-1992, college: Miami, FL, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward Ben Moore (203-1995, college: SMU) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Tyquan Rolon (192-1995, college: LeMoyne) scored 18 points and 6 assists. Four Mets players scored in double figures. Mets' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gigantes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 4-7 record. Mets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Gigantes will again meet at home higher ranked Mets (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mets will have a break next round.
