The game between Top Four teams took place in Arecibo. Third ranked host Capitanes (11-7) defeated 4th placed Atleticos (9-9) 92-85. Capitanes made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Capitanes outrebounded Atleticos 50-28 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-1986, college: Florida) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Nigerian-American power forward Chinemelu Elonu (206-1987, college: Texas A&M) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Tjader Fernandez (178-1994) who recorded 21 points and the other American import forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (201-1995, college: Arizona) added 12 points and 8 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains third place with 11-7 record having just two points less than leader Ponce. Loser Atleticos keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Capitanes will meet league's second-placed Cariduros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atleticos will play against Gigantes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
