Regular Season Round 8: Fuerza Regia - Halcones 74-75

The most exciting game of round 8 in the LNBPF took place in Monterrey. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-ranked Fuerza Regia (7-2) to third ranked Halcones (2-7) 75-74 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Fuerza Regia. American players dominated the game. Forward Kym Royster (188-1997, college: Indiana, agency: Green Sports Management) saved the victory by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Elissa Cunane (196-2000, college: NC State) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Royster is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Halcones players scored in double figures. Center Khaalia Hillsman (197-1996, college: Texas A&M) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and guard Destiny Pitts (178, college: Texas A&M, agency: Green Sports Management) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Fuerza Regia. Halcones maintains third position with 2-7 record having four points less than leader Adelitas. Fuerza Regia at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. Halcones are looking forward to face league's leader Panteras in Aguascalientes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fuerza Regia will play at home against Abejas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
