No shocking result in a game in Quebradillas where second ranked Piratas (12-7) defeated 6th ranked Brujos (4-14) 89-85 on Monday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Demetrius Treadwell (201-1991, college: Akron) who added 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. At the losing side naturalized American swingman Jahvari Josiah (193-1993, college: Coppin St., agency: Green Sports Management) responded with 26 points and American power forward Ben McCauley (206-1986, college: NC State) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Piratas used an opportunity after Ponce lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Brujos lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 14 games lost. Piratas will meet Capitanes (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Brujos will play against Gigantes in Carolina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
