Rather expected game in Humacao where 6th ranked Grises (6-10) were rolled over by fourth ranked Mets (8-10) 107-72 on Wednesday. Mets dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Grises' 36 and made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Grises 42-30 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American Melsahn Basabe (201-1992, college: Iowa) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Ben Moore (203-1995, college: SMU) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Mets players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Luis Rivera (185-1997, college: Miami Dade CC) responded with 13 points and 6 assists and American guard Gabriel Belardo (188-1989, college: FIU) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mets maintains fourth position with 8-10 record. Grises lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Carolina. Mets will meet at home higher ranked Cangrejeros (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Grises will play against Indios and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
