Quite upsetting was Caneros' home defeat in a game versus Reales 108-97. Reales shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Rigoberto Mendoza (187-1992) fired 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Victor Martinez (185-1992) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Reales' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Yeison Colome (190-1996) produced 25 points and 8 rebounds and American Curtis Hollis (198-1998, college: Hutchinson) added 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Reales will meet at home Indios in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Caneros will play against Soles in Santo Domingo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
