A very close game took place in Juana Diaz between Leones and Cariduros. Second ranked Leones (13-9) got a very close home victory over their close opponent Cariduros (11-10). Leones managed to escape with a 2-point win 91-89 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cariduros. The former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-1991, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 28 points and 9 assists for the winners and American-South Sudanese Nuni Omot (206-1994, college: Baylor) chipped in 22 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Terrence Jones (206-1992, college: Kentucky) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Emmanuel Andujar (197-1993, college: Manhattan) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leones maintains second place with 13-9 record having just one point less than leader Arecibo, which they share with Quebradillas. Loser Cariduros keep the second position with ten games lost. Leones will meet Piratas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Cariduros will play against Cangrejeros in Santurce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
