Regular Season Round 27: Racers - Atleticas 60-85

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Racers (2-21) in Saltillo on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by sixth ranked Atleticas (13-10) 85-60. Atleticas outrebounded Racers 46-31 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Cuban Lisdeyvis Martinez (175-1988) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. The former international guard Paola Estrada (172-1993) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Atleticas players scored in double figures. Ecuadorian point guard Leyda Macias (165-1983) answered with 21 points and 5 assists and Katia Mendoza added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Racers. Atleticas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Escaramuzas. Racers lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team still keep top position with 21 games lost. Atleticas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Racers will play again at home against Atleticas and are hoping to win this game.
