Regular Season Round 19: Arecibo - Humacao 87-73

There was no surprise in Arecibo where 6th ranked Grises (7-15) were defeated by first ranked Capitanes (14-8) 87-73 on Sunday. It was a great evening for naturalized U.S. Virgin Islands point guard Walter Hodge (183-1986, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international swingman David Huertas (196-1987, college: Ole Miss) helped adding 17 points. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. At the losing side international center Timajh Parker-Rivera (202-1994, college: Towson) responded with 5 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Darion Spottsville (193, college: EMU) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitanes have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-8 record. Grises lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Capitanes will meet at home league's second-placed Leones in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Grises will play against Brujos (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
