Regular Season Round 6: Soles - Leones 75-79

The biggest surprise of round 6 in LNB took place in Santo Domingo where guest Leones (#1) beat lower ranked Soles (#2) by 4 points 79-75 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Soles. It was a key game for the top position in the league. 25 personal fouls committed by Soles helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was naturalized American point guard Eddy Polanco (190-1994, college: SE Louisiana) who scored 19 points. Juan Guerrero (205-1993) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American Gerardo Suero (196-1989, college: Albany) who recorded 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and American forward Tevin Glass (206-1994, college: ETSU, agency: BIG) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Leones and five Soles players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Leones have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-1 record. Soles at the other side keep the second place with two games lost. Leones are looking forward to face Titanes (#6) in San Cristobal in the next round where they are favorite. Soles will play on the road against Titanes (#6) in San Cristobal and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
