Sixth-ranked Grises (7-15) made lots of trouble for first ranked Vaqueros (16-6) in Humacao on Tuesday. The visitors from Bayamon managed to secure only one-point victory 86-85. However their fans expected much easier game. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-1992, college: Miami, FL) fired 22 points and 7 assists for the winners. The former international forward Benito Santiago (197-1989, college: Cumberlands) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Point guard Luis Rivera (185-1997, college: Miami Dade CC) produced 17 points and 7 assists and American-Mexican center Daniel Amigo (208-1995, college: Denver) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Four Vaqueros and five Grises players scored in double figures. Grises' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaqueros have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-6 record. Grises lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Vaqueros are looking forward to face Mets (#5) in Guaynabo in the next round. Grises will play at home against Brujos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
