Regular Season Round 7: Indios - Leones 84-66

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Leones (5-3) in San Francisco on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Indios (3-4) 84-66. Indios dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Leones' 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Leones' players. It was a great evening for guard Juan Suero (196-1993) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Adonis Henriquez helped adding 13 points and 9 assists. At the losing side Leo Cabrera responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Kelechi Ajukwa (201-1995, college: Charlotte) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Indios moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Reales. Defending champion Leones still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with Marineros. Indios is looking forward to face higher ranked Soles (#3) in Santo Domingo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leones will play at home against the league's second-placed Marineros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
