Instituto outlasted Quimsa to draw things even at 2-2. Instituto made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Quimsa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-1987) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds and international Martin Cuello (193-1993) who added 18 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. At the losing side American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and international point guard Franco Baralle (185-1999) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
