Important game to mention about took place in Mayaguez. Fourth ranked Indios (13-12) saved a 1-point victory at home edging second-best Piratas (15-10) 77-76 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Piratas. Indios players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-1989, college: Marquette) nailed 17 points and 8 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winning side and his fellow American import power forward Kaleb Wesson (208-1999, college: Ohio St.) accounted for 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Jamil Wilson (201-1990, college: Marquette) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Gary Browne (185-1993, college: WVU) added 19 points and 6 assists respectively for Piratas in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Indios have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Santurce. Piratas at the other side keep the second position with ten games lost. They share it with Arecibo. Indios will play against Brujos (#6) in Guayama in the next round. Piratas will have a break next round.
