Regular Season Round 21: San German - Guaynabo 101-95

Everything could happen in San German at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Atleticos and 3rd placed Mets had identical 11-13 record. This time Atleticos used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Guaynabo 101-95 on Sunday night. Atleticos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Nate Mason (188-1995, college: Minnesota) who scored 21 points and 7 assists. His fellow American import Will Daniels (202-1986, college: URI) chipped in 17 points. Atleticos' coach Manuel Cintron used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ben Moore (203-1995, college: SMU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists and naturalized American guard Kyle Vinales (188-1992, college: CCSU, agency: Inception Sports) added 23 points and 8 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Atleticos maintains fifth place with 12-13 record. Loser Mets dropped to the fourth position with 14 games lost. Atleticos will meet higher ranked Cariduros (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mets will play against the league's leader Vaqueros in Bayamon and hope to secure a win.
