Quarter-Finals Round 5: Mazatlan - Guaymas 96-90

Mazatlan edged Guaymas to cut the deficit at 2-3. Venados made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Venados outrebounded Ostioneros de Guaymas 38-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. American guard Decensae Xavier White (198-1988, college: SF State) stepped up and scored 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Cameroonian center Gaston Essengue (203-1983, college: UNLV) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Xavier White is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Dylan Smith (196-1997, college: Arizona) responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import point guard Jaylen Fisher (188-1997, college: GCU) scored 17 points. Four Venados and five Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
