Not a big story in a game in Santurce where 5th ranked Indios (14-14) were edged by second ranked Cangrejeros (14-13) 92-89 on Tuesday. Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard JJ Barea (183-1984, college: Northeastern) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. American power forward Kaleb Wesson (208-1999, college: Ohio St.) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Nicaraguan guard Jared Ruiz (188-1992) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cangrejeros maintains second position with 14-13 record having five points less than leader Arecibo. Loser Indios dropped to the third place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Fajardo. Cangrejeros will meet at home Grises (#6) in the next round. Indios will play against Atleticos in San German and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
