Regular Season Round 9: Metros - Leones 88-78

Top ranked Leones (6-4) recorded its fourth loss in Santiago on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Metros (5-5) 88-78. Metros looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Ramon Galloway (190-1991, college: La Salle) who scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. Four Metros players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Juan Guerrero (205-1993) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Kelechi Ajukwa (201-1995, college: Charlotte) added 23 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Metros moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Marineros. Defending champion Leones still keep top position with four games lost. They share it with Titanes. Metros is looking forward to face higher ranked Soles (#3) in Santo Domingo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leones will have a break next round.
