Everything went according to plan in San Salvador where third ranked ExSal (5-2) outleveled 12th ranked Opico (2-6) 61-24 on Tuesday. ExSal held Opico to an opponent 23.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.5 percent accuracy of the winners. ExSal forced 26 Opico turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Alejandra Lima (162-2001) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Camila Lima (172-2003) chipped in 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. ExSal's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Monica Canjura (167-2002) with 6 points and point guard Iris Zepeda (160-1991) scored 4 points and 5 rebounds. Despite that victory ExSal went down to fifth position due to points difference. Opico lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. ExSal will meet at home Santa Ana (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Opico will have a break next round.
