Regular Season Round 10: Marineros - Indios 80-87

Date: June 16, 2022
Another exciting game for Indios (6-5) which played in Puerto Plata against one of their biggest challengers Marineros (5-6). Fifth ranked Indios won 87-80. American Breein Tyree (188-1998, college: Ole Miss) scored 28 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Juan Suero (196-1993) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side Bernardo Polanco (189-1994) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized American Malcolm Rhett (206-1992, college: Ole Miss) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Indios have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Soles. Marineros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Metros. Indios will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Marineros will play at home against Caneros (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
