Round 10 most important game was a victory of Soles over 6th ranked Metros 89-88 on Thursday night. Soles looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Soles made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American Gerardo Suero (196-1989, college: Albany) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American-German forward Waverly Austin (211-1991, college: Oregon) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Soles' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) replied with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and American guard Orlando Johnson (193-1989, college: UCSB) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Metros. Four Metros players scored in double figures. Soles maintains third position with 6-5 record having just one point less than leader Leones, which they share with Indios. Metros at the other side keep the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Marineros. Soles will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Metros will play on the road against Reales (#5) in La Vega and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
