Very expected game in La Romana where 8th ranked Caneros (4-8) were defeated by second ranked Titanes (7-4) 114-104 on Friday. Titanes forced 19 Caneros turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Jassel Perez (195-2001) who scored 36 points (!!!) and 4 steals. American Jordan Williams (198-1992, college: N.Texas) chipped in 26 points and 5 assists. American guard Rashad James (185-1990, college: Keiser) produced 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Yeison Colome (190-1996) added 24 points respectively for the hosts. Four Titanes and five Caneros players scored in double figures. Caneros' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Titanes have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Leones. Loser Caneros stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Titanes will meet at home Reales (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Caneros will play against the league's leader Leones and hope to secure a win.
