The most exciting game of round 8 in the Liga Femenina took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of second-ranked D.Sporting (6-2) to sixth ranked Remeros (5-3) 60-59 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of D.Sporting. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Pia Moyano (170-1995) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and Argentinian center Ornela Bacchini (188-1989, college: OLLU) who added 7 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. The former international point guard Camila Panetta (162-2001) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Jessica Da Costa (-1991) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. D.Sporting's coach Gino Alderete rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Remeros moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Yale and Hebraica. Defending champion D.Sporting keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Malvin and 25 de Agosto. Remeros is looking forward to face Montevideo (#9) at home in the next round. D.Sporting will play against Paysandu (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
