There was no surprise when 12th ranked Opico (2-6) was crushed at home by third ranked Sivar (7-2) 76-40 on Saturday. Sivar forced 42 Opico turnovers. Valeria Castro (170-2001) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Wendy Guevara (165-2001) chipped in 15 points during the contest. Sivar's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Monica Canjura (167-2002) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Panamanian forward Fatima Guerra (165-2000) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Sivar have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-2 record behind leader FAS. Opico lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
