Astros fired past Mazatlan to secure the championship series berth. Astros dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Venados' 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for center Matt Stainbrook (208-1992, college: Xavier) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Lagerald Vick (196-1997, college: Kansas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Astros players scored in double figures. Guard Decensae Xavier White (198-1988, college: SF State) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Jeff Ledbetter (191-1988, college: Idaho, agency: Slash Sports) added 16 points in the effort for Venados. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
