Regular Season Round 27: Quebradillas - San German 87-95

The most interesting game of round 27 was a home defeat of their close opponent Piratas (17-15) to fourth ranked Atleticos (18-14) 95-87. Atleticos made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Nate Mason (188-1995, college: Minnesota) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 9 assists. International forward Jose Rodriguez (201-1992, college: Texas Southern) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Atleticos' coach Manuel Cintron used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Gary Browne (185-1993, college: WVU) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists and American Thomas Robinson (208-1991, college: Kansas) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Four Atleticos and five Piratas players scored in double figures. Atleticos moved-up to second place, which they share with Ponce and Santurce. Piratas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Mayaguez.
