The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Indios (3-0) in San Francisco on Tuesday night. Hosts were edged by fourth ranked Marineros (0-1) 92-90. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Indios. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Manny Quezada who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized American Malcolm Rhett (206-1992, college: Ole Miss) who added 19 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side British center Kavell Bigby-Williams (211-1995, college: LSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds and American Breein Tyree (188-1998, college: Ole Miss) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Five Indios players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Marineros went down to fifth position due to points difference. Indios at the other side still keep top place with 0 game lost. Marineros are looking forward to face higher ranked Leones (#3) in Santo Domingo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Indios will play at home against Soles and are hoping to win this game.
