Second Stage Round 6: Leones - Indios 89-93

Round 6 most important game was a victory of Indios over one of their biggest challengers Leones 93-89 on Thursday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Indios shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. It was a good game for guard Juan Suero (196-1993) who led his team to a victory with 29 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Naturalized Spanish Edward Santana (203-1980) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Indios players scored in double figures. Indios' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Juan Guerrero (203-1993) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Eddy Polanco (193-1994, college: SE Louisiana) added 19 points in the effort for Leones. Indios maintains first position with 4-1 record. Defending champion Leones dropped to the second place with two games lost. Indios will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Leones will play on the road against Titanes in San Cristobal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
