Second Stage Round 6: Marineros - Reales 90-94

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Marineros (2-2) against fifth ranked Reales (2-3) on Friday night. Host Marineros were defeated by Reales in a tough game in Puerto Plata 90-94. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Marineros. They outrebounded Marineros 47-28 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Reales looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized American center Justin Satchell (203-1995, college: St.Leo) notched 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Devin Brooks (186-1992, college: Creighton) supported him with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Brooks is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 30 points and 6 rebounds by American swingman Trahson Burrell (201-1992, college: Memphis) did not help to save the game for Marineros. Forward Manny Quezada added 23 points and 9 assists. Five Reales and four Marineros players scored in double figures. Reales moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Titanes. Marineros at the other side keep the third position with two games lost. Reales will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Marineros will play against Soles and hope to secure a win.
