Regular Season Round 4: LMMR 2 - Santa Ana 2 80-40

Bottom-ranked Santa Ana 2 (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 80-40 loss to third ranked LMMR 2 (3-1) in Santa Ana on Friday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana 2's 22. LMMR 2 forced 43 Santa Ana 2 turnovers and had a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Monica Aristondo (163-1992) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Center Alejandra Hernandez (180-1999) chipped in 6 points and 12 rebounds. Center Carina Cornejo (200-1975) produced 4 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks and Guatemalan center Ana Morales (200-1998) added 11 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. LMMR 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 3-1 record having just one point less than leader FAS Fever 2. Santa Ana 2 at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Salvadorenas 2. LMMR 2 are looking forward to face league's second-placed San Salvador at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Santa Ana 2 will play against Salvadorenas 2 (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
