Regular Season Round 8: LMMR 2 - Santa Tecla ITD 80-78

Fifth-ranked Santa Tecla ITD (2-5) was very close to win a game against third ranked LMMR 2 (6-4) in Santa Ana. LMMR 2 managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78. However their fans expected easier game. LMMR 2 made 31-of-38 charity shots (81.6 percent) during the game. Santa Tecla ITD was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Chandre Nunez (178) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds and forward Zulma Vides (170-2003) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and American guard Diamond Richardson (175-1993, college: UAPB) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. LMMR 2 maintains third position with 6-4 record having just one point less than leader San Salvador. Santa Tecla ITD at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Salvadorenas 2. LMMR 2 will play against bottom-ranked Santa Ana 2 (#7) in the next round. Santa Tecla ITD will play against Santa Ana 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
