Regular Season Round 4: Ituano - FR/SEMELP 82-64

Very important is a road loss of third ranked FR/SEMELP (1-2) against fourth ranked Ituano (2-1) on Wednesday night. Visiting FR/SEMELP was defeated by Ituano in Itu 82-64. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Ituano made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 FR/SEMELP turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Carina Martins (175-1992) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals. The former international point guard Joice Rodrigues (174-1986) contributed with 17 points (made all of her seven free throws) for the winners. Four Ituano players scored in double figures. Ituano's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Isabella Souza replied with 21 points and 4 assists and Cuban point guard Ineidis Casanova (162-1988) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for FR/SEMELP. Ituano moved-up to second place. FR/SEMELP at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Ituano will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. FR/SEMELP will play at home against Vera Cruz to get more than just one victory in their record.
